What is NoFollow and Dofollow in commenting

Just a friendly reminder, I’ve added and activated the DoFollow plugin from Semiologic to my blog so that all my readers who comment will get some backlink love. From this point on, you’ll see this graphic at the bottom of every single post, reminding you that the link to your website in your comments will be counted by search engines. This is part of your link building efforts and will help improve your rankings in the search engines. SPAM comments will automatically be filtered and deleted by Akismet plugin – everyone else is welcome.
What is NoFollow?

The NoFollow attribute (rel=”nofollow”) is an HTML attribute that tells the search engines to bypass your links during indexing. Most blogs are installed with the default setting NoFollow, meaning that the URL in the comments are not followed by Google and other search engines. Unfortunately, it also means that legitimate commenters get penalized, since a NoFollow link is implicitly treated by the search engines as a vote against the page being linked to. However, I do not believe in punishing legitimate commenters, and by installing the DoFollow plugin, it allows Google and other search engines to follow and pass on the credit to the outbound link. This is my way of saying thanks to all my great commenters.
What is DoFollow?

While NoFollow is an HTML attribute, DoFollow is actually an Internet slang term given to web pages or sites that are not utilizing NoFollow. In other words, blogs that remove or turn off the NoFollow attribute are rewarding the commenters for their contribution to a useful discussion. So if you want to increase your backlinks and improve your Google pagerank (PR), join in on the conversations and give us your thoughts and feedback.

Now that you know what DoFollow is and what it can do for you in terms of link building – go ahead and place your comments and don’t forget to include your website ;) …or if you have any questions about NoFollow and DoFollow, just let me know and I’ll try to answer it.

Future of Mobile Industry in India Study

The mobile subscriber base is expected to zoom to 893 million by 2012. This is a 150 million increase of what was projected earlier, as per a report by Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). The COAI’s earlier estimates had shown that mobile user base will reach 743 million by 2012. The major reason stated for the increase is the huge adoption of the mobile services in the rural areas, reported The Business Line.

India is now the second largest mobile market in the world after China, which has over 650 million subscribers, with India having 400 million mobile users. According to COAI’s projection, there will be 1.24 billion mobile users in 2015 – which means one phone for every Indian.

“We have revised the projections because the rate at which infrastructure is growing is faster than what we had expected. Operators are moving into the hinterland and uncovered areas. Secondly, we are getting almost 50 per cent of our new additions from the rural areas. The third factor is that the level of competition has increased with new players in the sector which again leads to faster deployment of networks,” says T. V. Ramachandran, Director-General, COAI.

“Indian growth story is here to stay. I will push back against any view that says to the contrary. There is still a huge untapped market in both rural and urban areas,” says Atul Bindal, President, Mobility, Bharti Airtel. According to him, three out of five new subscribers are now coming from non-urban areas and expect to get the company’s next 100 million users in another two-three years.
